The Candidates filling HP SET Online Application should ensure that they fulfill all eligibility conditions for admission to the Himichal Pradesh State Eligibility Test. Their admission at all the stages of the HP SET Exam will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.
Note:- Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission is conducting the State Eligibility Test-2015 in 19 subjects accredited by the University Grants Commission on 24 July 2016 comprising of three papers i.e. Paper-I from 10.00 AM to 11.15 AM, Paper-II from 11.30 AM to 12.45 PM and Paper-III from 2.30 PM to 5.00 PM. in various Examination Centres located at Shimla, Solan, Sunder Nagar, Mandi, Dharamshala, Palampur and Kangra stations of the State. The Admit cards of provisionally admitted candidates alongwith instructions has been uploaded on the website of the Commission.
HP SET 2015 Corrigendum
Apropos this Commission’s Advertisement No. 5/2015 dated 18.11.2015 published in news papers (The Tribune and Amar Ujala) and uploaded in the website of the Commission, it is notified for the information of all concerned that the condition No. 8 regarding Syllabus of Test is substituted and may be read as “All questions of Paper-II and Paper-III will be compulsory, covering entire syllabus (including all electives, without options). The syllabi for all the subjects can be downloaded from H.P. Public Service Commission’s website www.hp.gov.in/hppsc. This agency will not supply the copies of syllabus to the individual candidates.”
The other terms and conditions shall remain unchanged.

HPSET 2015 application forms can be filled online from the official website. Candidate are required to fill and submit the HP SET Application Form online only. Application Form of HPPSC SET must be completed in all respects as per the Notification. HP SET Eligibility Criteria
There is no upper age limit to apply for appearing in HP SET.
Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (50% for SC / ST / OBC / PwD) in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination in Humanities (including languages) and Social Sciences, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. are eligible for this Test.
Candidates who have appeared or will be appearing at the qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this Test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for the post of Assistant Professor in the Universities/Colleges situated in the state, only after they have passed their Master’s degree examination or equivalent. Such candidates must complete their PG degree examination within two years from the date of HP SET Result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.
The Ph.D degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September, 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks for appearing in HP SET.
Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer) category must ensure that their certificate of respective category is on parental lineage issued by the competent authority. The candidates are not required to submit any certificates/documents in support of their eligibility. Therefore, the candidates must ensure themselves about their eligibility for the Test.
All the eligible candidates who have applied for HP SET Exam before last date and paid complete application fee are able to download HP SET Admit Card 2015 from the official website of HPPSC SET. Mere issue of Admission Certificate to the candidate will not imply that his/her candidature has been finally cleared by the Commission. Commission takes up verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents only after the candidate has qualified for Test.
HP SET Exam Pattern 2015
The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will consist of only objective type questions and will be held in the month of May/ June, 2016 (Sunday) one day in two separate sessions as under:

Paper-I shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/ research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. Sixty (60) multiple choice questions of two marks each will be given, out of which the candidate would be required to answer any fifty (50). In the event of the candidate attempting more than fifty questions, the first fifty questions attempted by the candidate would be evaluated.
Paper-II shall consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions based on the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry 2 marks.
Paper-III will consist of 75 objective compulsory questions from the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry 2 marks. All questions of Paper-II and Paper-III will be compulsory, covering entire syllabus (including all electives, without options.)
The candidate will have to mark the responses for questions of Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III on the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) sheet provided by the Commission.
There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their post graduation only. In case the subject of a candidate is not included in the list of HP SET subjects, the candidate may appear in UGC NET / UGCCSIR NET which is held twice a year.
